As we head into the Summer swing, we’re delighted to having joined forces with London-born brand, Hackney Gelato, founded by Italian chefs, Sam and Enrico.
In 2015, Sam and Enrico spent a summer touring Sicily, Calabria and Basilicata, honing their craft with master gelatieri. Hackney Gelato was born on their return.
They started selling homemade gelato at Brick Lane’s Sunday market. Word spread among the chef community and today they supply gelato and sorbetto to the finest restaurants, shops and living rooms in the land.
Hackney Gelato is hand made in small batches in their East London kitchen, winning 22 great taste stars in the last three years, and picking up fans like Nigella Lawson and Jay Rayner along the way.
At Flamingo, we have 3 Hackney Gelato flavours available…
- Sea Salted Caramel – with notes of burnt toffee and a sprinkle of Maldon sea salt, this is a properly decadent gelato.
- Strawberry – made using 45% crushed whole strawberries so it tastes like the creamiest bowl of strawberries you’ve ever had!
- Dark Chocolate Sorbetto (vegan) – made with Belgian dark chocolate. Rich enough to own its own yacht!
